Because something woke her up out of a sound sleep, and she can't get back to sleep, Parker is writing a letter home. It will probably give Sydney an aneuryism.
Dear Sydney,
No, I haven't written in a while. Yes, things are going well. No, I haven't been ill, yes, I am taking care of myself.
Why don't I just list it out for you? Like a pillow book, but not.
1) Annoying things
Having my first name become common knowledge at school against my will.
Belthazor the Idiot attempting to de-soul Wings again, necessitating some action on my part.
Gremlins. And becoming Carol Brady. I shall repress any other information about it.
Broots' roommate, who is not allowed to have caffiene. And with good reason.
Non-existent people taking their lives in their hands, then probably thinking of new ways when I am not there to stop them.
2) Amusing things
Dances with Dusted Bunnies, Zero's band, who do not realize the strangeness of this school.
Getting Wings elected to Student Council, though he did not want to be. At least at first.
Drawing a heart on Callisto's ankle, in repayment for taunting.
Jack Harkness, who is not a thing, but is not a relationship, and is not a hobby, and is a friend, so he must go on the list somewhere, and it might as well be here.
Broots' roommate, when confronted with information he is not comfortable with.
Expeditions to Giant Rooms, on the spur of the moment, with friends.
3) Vengeful things
Making Marty Blank run for office, though he did not want to, in payment for actions at my birthday party.
Having to endure his taunting at Student Council after having been elected. Then making him fall asleep.
Sparring with Kara Thrace and getting the last word, which she deserved.
4) Surprising things
Birthday parties. With lovely things, and lovely people.
Conversations on the Empire State Building. The wind blows your hair into your eyes, and you can pretend you can't hear people, when really, you don't know what to say.
5) Elegant things
New York in January, with snow, at Rockfeller Center, with Lorne.
Mr. MacLeod, teaching me Aikido, which is easier for me than judo.
Nadia, a new student, bargaining for jewelry and getting a new dress. Strange to respect someone younger than me.
6) Awkward things
Rory, who insists on seeing romances where none exist, with people who don't exist.
Getting splashed with a water balloon while talking to those non-existent people.
My Little Brother, who calls me lass and mainlines Twinkies, and yet I can not abuse him. This is also annoying.
7) Scholarly things
The relationship between Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, which, despite what Carter says, is not a healthy thing.
English history, which is also entertaining when conducted in company of Zero, and at the expense of Dr. Pierson. Also, watching "King Arthur" with her and Vala Mal Doran, who has sound theories on Lancelot vs. Arthur.
Montana. I wish I could believe it does not exist, as Lee Adama adamantly refuses to believe in England.
8) Delicious things
Kissing Archie Kennedy, and being kissed by him.
Kissing Jake Gavin and Alex Krycek, in payment for an annoying thing.
Jack H. must be on this list as well.
Our new Security Officer, who is like a walking apple from Eden.
Giving Lee Adama a massage, and knowing how he purrs.
New shoes.
9) Strange things
Non-existent people dating people who I know. Linear A is more comprehensible. This is also an entertaining thing, as being asked for advice often is.
Rory's only-a-friend Anakin, who unsettles Angela, as well as myself. Even if he is also amusing when pelted with water condom balloons.
10) Pleasing things
Getting elected to Student Council.
Esme, hiding under blankets, and eating whatever is offered.
A prospective spa day with friends, courtesy of Veronica, who I am grateful to for it.
11) Depressing things
Being called into the Principal's Office, and forced to watch the destruction of a Hostess cupcake. Woe.
The break-up of friends' romances, even when one is not invested in them. Really. Why do people even try, Sydney?
Friends who do not take your advice, like Rory, but who offer to be called Lorelai in solidarity, and are thus also pleasing, and can not be shaken until their teeth rattle.
12) Enraging things
Attacks upon one's friends from bleached-blonde vampires. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
and finally
13) Wistful things
Emails from Angelo.
Postcards from Giuseppe.
The bells of the church in town.
Planning a trip to Europe.
Not seeing you.
Sleep, dream, be careful, write.

for his wife was a naggy old woman. If ever she feels the need to abuse the dear, muddled-up thane, then by all means, do so. It might make him feel more at home. *g* Also: I am very amused. Hee.]]2006-01-23 08:16 am (UTC) (Link)
